It's hard to deny the success of the mobile game Angry Birds. The relatively simple, but time-sucking gameplay of sling-shotting tiny birds into pig houses has become a lucrative formula for developer Rovio. But regardless of how much the platform might be expanding from its mobile phone roots, there's still one market that's remained relatively untapped by the publisher… until now. Cake. We should preface this by saying that Rovio hasn't actually made an Angry Birds cake of its own. Electricpig's Mike Cooper (no relation to Angry Birds; it's a tech news site) crafted up a savory combination of Birds, Pigs, and tastiness to celebrate his son's sixth birthday. But there's a reason why it took Cooper approximately 10 hours to create his cake contraption: It works. Yes, the cake is a fully playable homage to the game itself, featuring a working catapult that one can use to launch bird confectionaries into a tasty pig fortress. The description doesn't really justice to the amount of time and creativity that Cooper sunk into his cake. Lucky for us, he made a video of the entire process as well: This entry passed through the Full-Text RSS service — if this is your content and you're reading it on someone else's site, please read our FAQ page at fivefilters.org/content-only/faq.php |
